MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE

(MLDM)

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage (MLDM) is a particularly light and gentle form of bodywork designed to decongest and enhance the flow of the body's lymphatic fluid through to an area where it can be cleansed, returned to the heart, and removed from the body.

We use a method based on Australian Dr. John and Judith Casley-Smith's research and mapping of the lymphatic system according the the superficial lymphatic vessels. They designed this method of lymphatic drainage massage as part of their treatment system called Complex Lymphoedema Therapy (CLT) to treat lymphoedema with exercise, compression, and skin care.

We also integrate the Emmett Technique more often than not for the purpose of moving or reducing fluid as the technique also addresses the neurolymphatic points of the body.

We would suggest that you book a one hour appointment for lymphatic drainage massage on its own. However, for the initial lymphoedema treatment, it would be best to book a one and half hour appointment because we need to know more about you, your medical history and your expectations. We need to conduct an assessment, and discuss the best approach to treatment prior the actual treatment. There is no need for you to wear your best Sunday dress, and comfortable clothing would do.
